Once upon a time, a toilet was just a toilet! Well, not anymore! Some flush easily, some with great difficulty and can
drive you nuts! Our government changed rules to save water.

Years ago, 3.5 -5 gal .of water swirled through 1 3/4" diameter traps dumping sewage through the floor drain..
Then the change took place! 1.6 gallons of water was expected to do what larger water quantity accomplished before.

Toilet companies responded to the law by reducing the size of their water tanks. In their infinite "bottom line"
wisdom, most companies decided not to absorb expensive tooling charges needed to enlarge traps and flush valves - if the
customer was unhappy with the flush, the toilet companies blamed the new regulations.

One company always made 2 1/8" traps /a 1" siphon jet at the bottom of the bowl...And 3 1/4" flush valve - And a smoother
glazed bowl for less mass resistance. The best part of it is that Toto continues to enforce their patents on these features!
The other toilet manufacturers wish they had discovered these features first!

Revolutionary "stuff!!" - actually they had been doing it for 40 years! And they flush better then the older toilets!! 
Larger flush valves create better water flow and the glazing makes everything move with "ease."
