I first got excited about cork when I visited a Designer Show House on Park Avenue, New York many years ago.
Immediately I noticed a room that had an accent wall covered with cork.
The designer used this medium as wall paper to display framed paintings -  then I noticed the floor.
It looked very very expensive and interesting.

I thought cork was used only for tacks and darts! The appearance of this product was exceptional and the pricing,
the designer explained, was very favorable. This particular Show House was outstanding; each room was created by a
juried design talent - and many of the top designers in the world were participating!

I spent time with the designer of the "cork room" and he was kind enough to explain how he worked cork into his
projects and the success he has enjoyed with this product over the years. Cork was new to me but not to him!

I remember the "cork room" designer explaining how interesting ceilings could be covered with cork.
Above are tiles 12" x 12" x 3/16" thick. Cork is extremely durable and can be used
where one uses wood. Many installations of this product are listed below.

These planks are 4" wide / 36" long x 3/16" thick. Why not mix several colors?
AND, Now there are "floating" floors. Please see below

Cork is used for automobile gaskets / stoppers in champaign bottles. The product is being used in the
following locations: UCLA Law Library since 1997 / Falling Water residence by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1937 /
Toledo Museum of Art, 1931 [50,000 sq. ft.] / Mayo Clinic 1912 / Seattle Federal Courthouse 1957 / Dayton
Art Institute, 40,000 sq. ft., 1997. The material is extremely resilient!

This product is a little more expensive then some of  the other tiles on the market and I was very concerned -
so I talked to the owner, Ann of WE Cork for advise on selling her product. She reminded me of the following specs:

All tiles are treated with an anti-curl prevention.
The cork is a full 3/16" thick / and has a density of 34-36 lbs. per cubic foot.
The installation, because of the increased sturdiness of the cork, does not require contact
adhesive / if it goes down in the wrong place it can be moved or removed for better and easier installation!!.

I have samples in the showroom from another supplier and it never, for some reason,
occurred to me to compare both products. The cheaper cork from the other Canadian producer is indeed thinner
and upon inspection / the particles of cork are larger - not as dense.
An education! We think it is important to purchase the better product and Ann has it.

Five colors are available. Boxing minimum is 36 tiles for squares [12" x 12" per box].
